NOTICES from 1st June
Bishop John and Dean Francis are coming to St Catharine's on Wednesday 4th June and will share the Eucharist with us at 10.15am. Following the service there will be a congregational meeting with lunch. Please pray for the General Synod of the Scottish Episcopal Church which meets from Thursday to Saturday this week, and for Willie, Susan, & Amy Jo who are all attending. The Buildings Planning Group for St Mary's have produced a sheet detailing current work and the hopes for the buildings as we move forward – if you didn't get one, please pick it up today. The next Praise in the Park in Zetland Park is today at 2.30pm at the War Memorial and then on the first Sunday of next month, 6th July. Local House of Prayer – St Catharine's on Mondays at 1.30pm. All welcome The service on Wednesday 4th June is at St Catharine's, 9.30am for Morning Prayer and 10.15am Eucharist. This is the time when Bishop John and Dean Francis are coming to have a conversation with the congregation at St Catharine's. The morning services on Sunday 8th June which is Pentecost will be all age services, Vestry meetings: St Catharine's next Vestry meeting is on Monday 9th June at 6.30pm in the hall. St Mary's Vestry is scheduled to meet at 6.30pm on Tuesday 24th June in the hall, but there is likely to need to be a special meeting of the diocesan synod that night if a vote goes a particular way at General Synod this week. So we will probably need to move the vestry meeting. Prayer and Potatoes – Meet at 5.30pm for evening prayer followed by a meal of baked potatoes, simple toppings and fellowship 30 mins later and 45 mins later again for Night prayer (Compline). Please invite others along to these events. St Mary's has theirs on 10th June. The next Afternoon Tea service at St Mary's is on Sunday 15th June. Quirk! is a safe place and time for LGBTQIA+ people and friends to explore faith together. It meets at 3pm on the 3rd Sunday of each month at St Catharine's which means the next one is on 15th June. Contact Rev Amy Jo Philip for more details. St Mary's is hosting this year's West Forth Area Council Big Sing on Sunday 22nd June at 3pm with a collection for Kersiebank Foodbank. Willie's last service before moving to Glasgow will be the Joint Service for the 5th Sunday of the month on 29th June at St Mary's at 10.30am. Sarah is being installed as Vice Provost at St Mary's Cathedral, Great Western Road in Glasgow on Sunday 8th June at 5pm – all are welcome!
